Residents are presented with opportunities to see women with successful careers. This experience helps residents visualize themselves in careers following their time at LGH
This panel presentation is a great opportunity for residents to see women with successful careers in areas they might not have considered before. This provides residents with ideas for jobs following their time at LGH and can encourage them to consider training for nontraditional jobs.
We thank the Rotary Club for joining us at LGH and introducing the young women to career opportunities within the community. This experience helps residents visualize themselves in careers following their time at LGH and provides them with community mentors to look towards for advice.
The Be a S.H.E.R.O. foundation’s mission is to provide support and empowerment to young girls and women who have been faced with abuse, neglect, or exploitation. The Teen Advisory board luncheon provides the residents at LGH to connect with young teen women and view them as peers. This luncheon helps for the residents at LGH to view themselves as peers to other young teens, even if they have been through abuse or exploitation. Moreover, this luncheon is an opportunity to create friendship and acceptance of self.
This class allows residents to understand the relationship between their education and future career, including helping them improve their chances of getting the job they desire, resume building, and choosing an industry they can visualize a future career in. This course also helps residents learn about what they may encounter in the labor market and what it is like entering the workforce.
